The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Noah Bendix-Balgley, Trey Lee and Foo Mei Yi
to perform in Kuala Lumpur and Penang on 27th and 29th November 2019
KUALA LUMPUR (26 September 2019) – A celebration of classical music, Reimagine Music Festival (www.reimaginemusicfestival.com) today announced the launch of the inaugural performances in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
“It gives me great delight to be able to co-found Reimagine Music Festival with world renowned cellist, Trey Lee, and with him, invite some of the world's leading music talents to visit and perform in Malaysia, to create the bridge of arts and cultural exchange that truly represents what we wish to do. In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020, I wish to extend my invitation for all to visit and explore Truly Asia, Malaysia. Music and arts are mediums that are appreciated by all, regardless of race and religion, which gave rise to the Festival’s motto, “Music Transcends Barriers” (#musictrancendsbarriers). Through classical music performances, the Festival seeks to promote the highest levels of human aspiration and artistic integrity, as well as to foster cultural connections between world-renowned musicians and the local community.
The Reimagine Festival was co-founded by Dr. Kris See of OSEL Group and Trey Lee, Artistic Director and internationally-acclaimed cellist, and marks the inaugural performance in Malaysia for the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, a highly regarded German orchestra with a distinctive history spanning seven-decades and an exceptional discography to note.
Reimagine Music Festival 2019 will offer a feast of classical music gems to the Malaysian audience with the debut of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra with guest leader, violinist Noah Bendix-Balgley (First Concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker) and renowned cellist, Trey Lee both featured as Soloists, performing at the prestigious Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, Kuala Lumpur on 27th November 2019. This will be followed by an evening of chamber music which sees Noah Bendix-Balgley (Violin), Trey Lee (Cello) joined by Malaysia’s very own Foo Mei Yi (Piano) at the Majestic Theatre, Georgetown, Penang on 29thNovember 2019.
As an initiative to promote and inspire music education in Malaysia, Trey Lee will also be conducting a talk with the public on 26thNovember 2019 at the GMBB Event Hall, GMBB Mall. More details about the performances and talk as follows:
